As we approach the holidays, we have some exciting updates to share with you!

Research Updates

We’re thrilled to announce that we have increased our support of the NICU-Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Program clinic at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital with a gift of $70,000. The clinic provides essential post-cardiac intervention support to our young patients, including physical, speech and psychological therapy.

Your generous support has also accelerated research by Dr. Kenneth Brady of Lurie Children’s Heart Center, which focuses on real-time patient health tracking. Dr. Brady is using data from bedside monitors to determine how to mitigate the negative impact of cardiac surgery on young patients’ brains.

Leading With Heart: Nominations Extended!

Great news! The application deadline for our Leading with Heart leadership development program has been extended to December 1st.

What is Leading with Heart?

Leading with Heart is an initiative by AGHF in proud partnership with Lurie Children’s Hospital. The program aims to develop high school students into community leaders who are well-versed in philanthropy and committed to raising funds for the Heart Center at Lurie Children’s.

Program Highlights

Leadership Development: Students participate in monthly sessions from January to May, where they receive leadership training and coaching from some of Chicago’s most respected leaders in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors.
Team Strategy: Students are grouped into teams and work on developing a fundraising strategy, guided by community leaders. This hands-on experience is invaluable for understanding the practical aspects of philanthropy and leadership.
Graduation Ceremony: The program culminates in a graduation ceremony in May, where top performers are recognized and students share their learnings with peers, faculty, and guests.
