What We Fund
Grants We Have Funded
AGHF funds grants to further research into CHD.
$300,000
Dr. Marino, Cleveland Clinic
One such initiative is a three-year research project led by Dr. Brad Marino, Department Chair of Heart, Vascular and Thoracic and Division Chief of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital. This work is conducted in partnership with Dr. Brady, Director of Post-Operative Services at the Children’s Heart Institute and Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. The project focuses on reducing the risk of cerebral hypoperfusion-associated white matter injury and improving long-term neurodevelopmental outcomes for infants undergoing surgery for congenital heart disease. By collecting critical pilot data, this study will inform future large-scale clinical trials. A Giving Heart Foundation is proud to support this research, which holds significant promise for improving lifelong neurologic health and wellness in children with CHD.

$40,000
Lurie Children’s Heart Center
A Giving Heart Foundation is also pleased to award a $40,000 grant to Lurie Children’s Heart Center to support the installation of advanced 3D cardiac imaging technology for surgical planning. This technology allows surgeons to virtually walk through a child’s heart before surgery begins, offering dynamic, patient-specific insight that supports more precise decision-making and improved outcomes. This grant was made possible through the fundraising efforts of A Giving Heart Foundation’s Leading With Heart Graduating Class of 2025. Leading With Heart is a youth leadership and social responsibility program that equips students with leadership skills while empowering them to support children living with CHD. We are honored to fund this work, which has the potential to make a lasting difference in the care and long-term wellbeing of pediatric heart patients.
